Alyssa Proksch

Hello! I have been drawing/painting since I was little. I've always felt that making art gives my mind a release or a different reality to go to, it's like therapy. Since my first year being involved in the Metro Youth Apprenticeship Program, in 2023, I have been working on my painting skills. My main focus has been large-scale pieces (murals), but I still use canvas regularly when I don't have an available wall! I always use acrylic paint in my artwork. I love making pieces that have a deeper meaning to them, for myself and others to relate to. Being able to bring my own or someone else's idea into reality with art is such an amazing aspect of the painting world, it is my absolute favorite skill that I have and I love doing it.
