Denise Mohr

My name is Denise Mohr and my passion is to create unique, nature inspired hand-drawn artwork using colored pencils as my medium of choice. My drawings require many layers of pencil, as well as using different solvents and burnishing techniques, to accomplish that look of realism. The average number of layers drawn to complete each piece of artwork is somewhere between 8 and 12. I want people to come up to my work and say, “I can’t believe that is colored pencil!”. I enjoy educating people about this artform and I would love them to take a second look and see that with a tool as basic as a colored pencil, you can create something incredibly realistic. It is the ultimate compliment to have that reaction of amazement from anyone viewing my art.
