Kimberlee Rocca

I work by day in new home construction, while simultaneously working unceasingly as a mixed media artist. Designing and building homes fuels my ideas for large scale pieces and my two artistic disciplines are so intertwined and I have found that I can barely do one without the other. My building sites are littered with common materials that continually spark my imagination. These ever-flowing varieties of construction waste products wiggle their way into my abstract installation process and works. My forms and color palettes are Inspired by radiant sunsets, panoramic skies, vast fields, deep waters, winding trails and geology and architecture of every kind. I have a passion for color and process that translates my love of nature into vibrant and textural 2-d and 3-d abstract works and play sculptures. I utilize roll leaf foils, acrylics, pastels and inks on paper, metal, wood or canvas to attain the desired scale and presence of my vision to bring life and joy into community spaces.

Kimberlee is based out of Iowa County.
