Maggie's work began as an exploration of both platonic relationships and the relationship with oneself. Her work contained portraiture of herself as well as friends and family members. During her last semester of community college she took an astronomy course and after many sessions of staring at the night sky, she couldn’t help but think about the significance of the symbolism space contains. After graduation, Maggie’s work began to take on a new life. She spent time scouring the web for information on nebulae, supernovas, and grief. Her work loosened up and became more figurative. Acrylic, watercolor, and various drawing tools became her preferred mediums as it allowed her to work fast and layer over and over again. Her work became a way for her to navigate and process her thoughts and make them productive rather than destructive.
Maggie is based out of Clinton County.
