Using rich color and precise detail Michele B. Baggenstoss renders lifelike figures, florals, and pets. She combines her love of nature with her desire to paint. Michele studied Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, which is where she was also born and raised. There she was classically trained under masters in their field in painting. Michele is a retired art teacher but continues to focus on her art and entering shows. Michele’s work has been exhibited across the country in various galleries and studios, from NYC to Ventura, California. On a personal note, Michele currently resides in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, a native son of Iowa. She is currently recovering from breast cancer surgery and hopes to add survivor to her list of accomplishments. She wonders how this journey will affect her art. She works out of her home studio with her faithful Scottish terrier, Swagger on one side and Grim her Black Russian Terrier, on the other.
Michele is based out of Polk County.
