Curious Outsider... Scott's true passion in his youth was his love for historical photographs, punk rock, and WLS radio. Despite feeling out of place in school, he was an observer who loved the edgy street graffiti, record stores like Wax Trax, and walking through perceivedly dangerous city housing projects. Scott was fascinated by the art and music scenes of New York and Chicago, from the works of Victor Skrebneski and Robert Mapplethorpe to the sounds of blues music and David Bowie's "Low" and "Scary Monsters" albums. He found people's passions and ways of self-expression intriguing. ? In 1980, Scott watched the movie "Times Square" for the first time and was immediately drawn to it. He watched it many times before it left the theatre. This gave him a sense of identification that he had never experienced before. ? To pursue his love for art and photography, he went to Columbia College Chicago for a Bachelor of Arts in Art. The early days of Interview magazine inspired him, and he was moved by the disruptions of the creative movement and how it made him see the world differently. ? Today, Scott works full-time as a photographer and mixed-media artist, Working on his next project. ?
Scott is based out of Scott County.
