Shayla Ray Afflerbaugh

From the time I was young, I have been interested in drawing and painting. I attended the Art Institute of Colorado for 3 years as a graphic design student, where I was most familiar with digital drawings. I later found a love for acrylic paintings that lead me to watercolors. I enjoy using all of those mediums still but stick primarily to watercolors. My subjects are usually animals, birds, nature, and people, but I love a fun and whimsical fantasy scene now and then. When I choose an animal to paint, I want to bring out the symbolism of that subject. Being out in nature sparks my creativity.
